Stephen A. Kuby, 65, died Feb. 13, 1991 in a Salt Lake City hospital.

Born Aug. 5, 1925 in New Jersey. Married to Josette Marie Quartuccio for 28 years; she preceded him in death. Mr. Kuby was a professor of biochemistry in the U. of U. School of Medicine and was awarded many grants to continue his research over the past 27 years. Graduate in chemistry from New York University and earned his master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Wisconsin. He served as a US Public Health Service fellow and assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin before joining the U. faculty in 1963.Graduate of Benoit College and taught at the University of Wisconsin. Member of Sigma XI - Scientific Research Society, American Chemical Society and also member of University of Utah Faculty Club and the New York Academy of Sciences. He was honored by Marquis "Who's Who in the World, America, and in the West" in the Physiological Chemistry section.

Survived by sons and daughters, Thomas P. Stasse, Madison, Wisc.; Rosaria M. Purcell, Susan Kuby Miller, both of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren; brother, George Howard Kuby and his wife, Pearl, Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 15, at 3 p.m. at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery.
