Murray and Cedar City will be out to defend their prep swimming titles at the UHSAA-First Security Bank 3A state championship meet this weekend.

The two-day meet at BYU has finals on both Friday and Saturday nights.The Murray girls squad posted a fifth consecutive 3A title last year en route to 204 team points, with Cedar City finishing second with 151 points.

Tooele, Springville and Ogden rounded out the top five teams.

And Cedar City snapped Murray's three-year reign in the 3A boys, with the Redmen outscoring the Spartans 182-150. Judge, Tooele and Logan finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

Last week, Brighton won the 4A boys and girls swimming titles.
