The Defense Ministry said Thursday it believes Angolan Mig-23s launched a bomb and rocket attack into northern Namibia, injuring four people after mistaking the target for positions of the U.S.-backed Unita rebels.

Three high-flying aircraft fired 286 rockets and dropped four bombs on a site in the northeastern Kavango district Wednesday, defense spokesman Paul Kanyemba said.Angolan aircraft have periodically bombed northern Namibia, most recently on Jan. 5, when two Mig-23s dropped six bombs but caused no casualties.
