William A. Chatelain, 66, passed away Monday, Febraury 11, 1991, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born July 6, 1924 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Walter A. and Vesta Shaw Chatelain. Married D. Elaine Watts, November 8, 1946, in Salt Lake City. He had worked at Hill Force Base as aircraft mechanic and supervisor for 23 years, retiring in 1975. He had also worked at Superior Auto in Ogden for 11 years. He was reared and educated in Salt Lake City. Had lived in Salt Lake City, Layton, and had lived in Clearfield the past 19 years. Member LDS Church. He had been a member of the VFW and the Eagles F.O.E. #3196 in Layton. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He served with U.S. Army in Germany during World War II.Survived by his wife, Clearfield; two sons, Michael W. Hislop, Ogden; James E. and wife, Heidi R. Chatelain, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother and two sisters, Arthur Chatelain, Yuma, Arizona; Irene Stephenson, St. George; Loraine Chatelain, Bellvue, Washington. Preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., Clearfield City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lindquist Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street, Wednesday 6-8 p.m., and also Thursday 9:45-10:45 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded by the VFW Honor Guard.
