Sen. John Holmgren, R-Bear River, and the rest of the Senate honored on Thursday the many Utah men and women participating in Operation Desert Storm when they unveiled two framed plaques with the patches of the various military units - regular, Reserve and National Guard - in operation.

"There are two gold stars on these plaques," said Holmgren, referring to the two Utahns killed in the conflict. "We hope there won't be any more."The plaques will hang in the Senate lounge for the rest of the session.
