A one-to-15-year prison term has been handed down to a St. George life insurance agent convicted of bilking two elderly women out of nearly $90,000.

Fifth District Judge J. Philip Eves sentenced Stacey Lynn Eaton to one-to-15 years on a second-degree felony charge of theft by deception and zero-to-five years on a third-degree felony charge of theft by deception. Eaton, 26, was fined a total of $15,000, but Eves stayed the fines and the zero-to-five years term if Eaton can make $30,000 restitution within the next 90 days.Otherwise, Eaton will serve both prison terms, the judge said Monday.

Eves also ordered that upon parole, Eaton must pay $79,741.81 restitution at 12 percent interest to Laura Clinger and $10,436 plus interest to the second victim, Jennie Slaugh.
