The Salt Lake Golden Eagles won their sixth straight game with a 5-3 victory over the San Diego Gulls Tuesday night.

Salt Lake's Richard Zemlak scored the first goal for the Eagles just 53 seconds into the game, and Rich Chernomaz added another in the first period for a 2-1 lead.The Eagles went ahead 3-1 when Paul Kruse shot the puck past Gull goalie Scott Brower 9:20 into the second period. San Diego's Ron Duguay was credited with a goal 11:16 into the period after Eagles' defenseman Darryl Olsen inadvertently fired the puck on his own goal and past Steve Guenette. The mistake didn't end up hurting the Eagles as Rick Lessard scored at the 12:47 mark to make it 4-2 for Salt Lake.

Duguay cut the Salt Lake lead to 4-3 on a power-play goal in the third period, but the Eagles iced the game with a short-handed goal by Tim Sweeney with nine seconds remaining.

The two teams meet again Wednesday night in San Diego.
