Research Industries Corp., 1847 W. 2300 South, a health-care products company, reported record earnings of $541,309 or nine cents per share in the quarter ended Dec. 31, a 58 percent increase over the same period a year ago.

Earnings in the six months ended Dec. 31 increased 57 percent to $995,243 or 17 cents per share compared to $632,378 or 11 cents per share in the same period in 1989, said Gary L. Crocker, president.Total revenue in the quarter was $2.8 million, a 31 percent increase from $2.1 million a year ago, generated largely by health-care product sales, which increased 36 percent to $2.6 million from $1.9 million last year.

Crocker said the health-care products sales growth was led by a 76 percent increase in sales of the firm's cardiovascular specialty catheters in the quarter and a 78 percent increase in cardiovascular products sales in the six-month period.

Crocker said, "We anticipate the continued expansion of cardiovascular specialty products revenues in the second half of the fiscal year as four major new product lines are introduced. These new product lines will further improve second-half performance and also put in place an expanded base of products for fiscal 1992 growth."
