Brigham Young University will conduct free classes in English as a second language Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Feb. 19.

Mary Lee Scott, coordinator of the program, said the classes will take place from 4 to 4:50 p.m. in Amanda Knight Hall, 800 N. University Ave., through April 4.Classes are open to adults and older teenagers who are not native speakers of English regardless of whether they are BYU students. Registration and placement testing will take place at 4 p.m. Feb. 19, and class work will begin Feb. 21.
