A man at a fast-food restaurant fired a gun Sunday at two people who were attempting to order food at a drive-up window.

Salt Lake police said the gunman and another passenger were in a vehicle at the drive-up window at Burger King, 63 E. 2100 South, when the incident occurred about 2:45 p.m. Sunday.Another vehicle pulled into the driveway behind the suspects' car and the two occupants began ordering their food. The driver of the vehicle in front of them began to back up his car and then yelled at the other car to get out of his way, according to a police report.

The second car backed out but was apparently still blocking the driveway. The driver of the first car pulled out a black revolver, pointed it at one of the victims and then told the other person, "Say goodbye to him," the report stated.

One of the passengers ran inside the restaurant for help and the other hid behind a cement pillar. The suspect then fired one round and sped away. Police were unable to determine where the bullet went.
