Melvin Ronald Olsen, 62, died February 9, 1991 in home in Salt Lake City, Utah from cancer.
He was born April 9, 1928 to John K. and Jane (Jennie) Young Olsen in Ephraim, Utah. He graduated from Snow College, attended Utah State and graduated from the University of Utah in the fields of education and business. He taught school at South High in Salt Lake City. He served in the Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was a businessman at a early age. He had a floral business while he was still in high school. He owned and operated a jewelry store in Ephraim. He worked in New York City in the retail business. He became interested in the stock market and owned and operated Olsen and Company Stock Brokerage Firm in Salt Lake City until he retired. He loved gardening, traveling, and had many real estate interests. He genuinely cared for many people and was always helping someone in one way or another. He will be missed by those who loved him so dearly.Survived by sisters, Erma O. Reynolds, Provo, Utah; Veda Clareese Mower, San Bernardino, Calif.; brother, Floyd K. Olsen, Ephraim, Utah; and ten nieces and nephews.
