Anatoli Kucheruk, a spectacular technician and principal dancer with the Kiev Ballet, will make a guest appearance as Prince Florimund in Ballet West's "Sleeping Beauty."

Kucheruk was in Ogden last October with Stars of the Soviet Ballet, and will be remembered by Utah balletomanes as the daredevil star of "The Flames of Paris." Previous U.S. tours have been with the Los Angeles Ballet in 1989 and as a guest artist with the Bolshoi Ballet in the summer of 1989 and 1990.He trained at the Kiev State Choreographic School under the legendary teacher Denisienko, and was a winner of silver medals at the Varna (Bulgaria) International Ballet Competition of 1980, and the Moscow International Ballet Competition of 1981.

In BW's "Sleeping Beauty," Aurora will be danced by Wendee Fiedeldey, Erin Leedom and Jane Wood. Robert Arbogast and Raymond Van Mason will also dance Florimund. Bene Arnold is the ill-tempered fairy, Carabosse, and Lisa Lockerd the Lilac Fairy.
