Glenn Oscar Pollard, 84, of Ogden, died Thursday, February 7, 1991 at the McKay Dee Hospital of cancer.
He was born March 28, 1906 in Emmett Canyon, Idaho, a son of Alfred George and Caroline Granat Pollard. On October 21, 1927, he married Ebba Eleanor Bills in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she died January 2, 1978.He was reared and educated in Emmett, Idaho and Salt Lake City, graduated from the University of Utah. He taught at Jordan High School, and moved to Ogden where he worked as an insurance agent and district manager for 50 years for Farmers Insurance.
Mr. Pollard was active in the LDS Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, Stake Sunday School President, and served on the High Council in Riverdale Stake for 12 years. He was a member of the Ogden 49th LDS Ward at the time of his death.
He was a past member of the Elks and Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and reading.
Surviving are three sons, Rodney Gene Pollard of Riverdale; Gary Dee Pollard of Uintah; and Steven Lynn Pollard of Ogden; one daughter, Patsy Pollard Johnson of Danville, Calif.; 35 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Leonard H. Pollard of Logan.
He was preceded in death by one son, Donald Glenn Pollard, and five brothers.
Services will be Monday, at 1:30 p.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers, 836 36th Street. Friends may call at the Mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 .m. and Monday from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Entombment, Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Mausoleum.
