The fifth annual Vienna Ball of the Salt Lake Symphony, a Valentine gala, will take place in the State Capitol rotunda on Saturday, Feb. 16. The formal ball (black tie suggested but not required) features a program of music from Strauss to Mancini played by the symphony and a Viennese buffet catered by Siegried's Delicatessen. The Brigham Young University Ballroom Dancers will also entertain. Danny Kramer, master of ceremonies for the ball, says, "It is a threefold experience: The food is fabulous, the entertainment is top-notch, and just being able to dance with someone you want to be with is wonderful." Proceeds from the ball support the Salt Lake Symphony's season of four free concerts annually, performed by capable amateurs. Admission is $22.50 a ticket.
