Hawaii swept a four-game series with BYU by winning a 12-3 match on Saturday to take the early lead in the Western Athletic Conference.

The Rainbows, 6-1 overall, limited BYU to three hits and got five innings of shutout relief pitching. Hawaii loaded the bases three times in the first two innings to take an early 3-0 advantage.BYU's big inning was when it scored two runs in the fifth thanks to a walk, a wild pitch, a hit batter and a right field single by Chris Cooper.
