Figures released by the National Guard Bureau at the Pentagon show Utah had 1,415 members of the National Guard and 955 members of Reserve units on active duty in support of Operation Desert Storm as of Jan. 31.

The most recent activation of the six Air Force Reservists from the 67th and 68th Aerial Port Squadrons would bring the Reserve count from Utah to 961 and boost the total of National Guard and Reserve troops from the state to 2,376.All of the military's Reserve components are represented in Utah, including the Coast Guard, which has four members on active duty for Operation Desert Storm.
