After losing a heartbreaker to Idaho on Thursday night, the Weber State Wildcats will try to rebound for a win when they play the Eastern Washington Eagles tonight. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. MST.
The Wildcats record dropped to 9-11 overall and 4-5 in league play when a last second shot lifted Idaho to a 58-56 victory in Moscow, Idaho.The Eagles are now 9-11 overall, 3-6 in Big Sky Conference action. The two Eagle Conference victories came in the opening two games of the season, defeating Northern Arizona (91-74) and Nevada (74-60) at home. Since that time, EWU has dropped six straight league games. However, they did get back on the winning track last week with a pair of non-conference victories at home. EWU defeated Cal State-Northridge (95-73) and U.S. International (118-83). The Eagles beat Idaho State on Thursday night, 95-89.
EWU's John Wade is in his first season as a head coach, and coach at EWU. Wade is a former EWU player and assistant coach. He had been a Pacific as an assistant before coming back to Cheney.
In the first game between the teams this year, Weber State defeated EWU 88-80 in the Dee Events Center.
