If you're tired of watching those home video TV programs, convinced you can do it better, gather your best work for the third annual Great Video Review Shootoff.
Home videos - from amateurs only - are being solicited by Video Review magazine and RCA for the contest, which doesn't require fancy equipment or Hollywood-quality editing skills. All that's needed is an original idea. The grand prize is a selection of top-flight RCA video gear, a stereo videocassette recorder and a television, along with a trip to New York City to participate in an awards ceremony.
The contest encourages creativity, rather than merely sight gags and pranks. Videos should be no longer than 15 minutes and may be in any camcorder format. There are four categories: Tales on Tape (fiction), Tunes on Tape (music video), Real Life (travel/documentary) and F/X (special effects/animation).
Entries must be received by Feb. 28. For further information and specific contest rules, pick up a copy of Video Review magazine.
