The condition of a 17-year-old Salt Lake girl who fell 30 to 40 feet down a ravine in the foothills near Bell Canyon Sunday has worsened from serious to critical, according to a nursing supervisor.

Tammy Baker, 1515 S. 13th West, fell off of a ledge and landed on a hard rock ledge, said Sandy police Sgt. Ed Cantor. She and a friend had apparently climbed up to look at a waterfall near 111th South and 30th East when the accident occurred at 7:43 p.m.Chuck Hellige, Sandy, pulled her out of some water she had partially landed in and summoned help, Cantor said. She was taken to Alta View Hospital by Life Flight helicopter.

The nursing supervisor said Baker suffered a fractured leg and several other injuries. She remained in critical condition Monday morning.
