M. J. Hogan, died February 6, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born in Creston, Iowa, January 7, 1917 to Aver Millard and Blanche Nellie Hilling Hogan. Married Betty Jean Shepherd, Salt Lake City, in 1944. Graduated from Graceland Jr. College, Iowa. He also attended Missouri University, St. Louis, Missouri.Red was a Chief Warrant Officer in the Navy, serving in World War II. A home builder in Missouri, 1947-53. Moved to Newport Beach, California in 1953, where he established M. J. Hogan Construction Company. Retired to Salt Lake City in 1969, where he continued his involvement in construction. Red enjoyed golfing, spending his summers fishing in Montana, and relaxing with a good book. Red will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, always finding time for his children.
Survived by his wife, Betty Jean; five children and their spouses, Mrs. Gerald L. (Patricia A.) Jones, Dillon, Montana; Mrs. Michael G. (Virginia R.) Callahan, St. George; triplet sons, John M. (Ann), Thomas W. (Heidi), both of Salt Lake City; RichardJ. (Amy), Houston, Texas; 22 grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Robertson, Marina del Ray, California.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9th, 12 Noon, Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, Provo, Utah.
