Nels Antone Valentine Nelson, age 92, our beloved fa- ther and grand- father, died Feb- ruary 5, 1991, at his home in L Sandy.

He was born February 5, 1899, in Malmo, Mal-H mohus, Sweden to Andrew O. L and Johanna L Persson Nelson. On September L 16, 1925, he mar- ried Elizabeth L Emma Crump in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death, June 6, 1988. Nels was a Veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion Barracks #1654. A retired smelter worker for United States Smelting and Refining Co., he worked as a farmer in his early life. He also en- joyed gardening and was an avid sports fan. His hobbies in- cluded stamp collecting since 1928, rug weaving, needlepoint and wood working. He has do- nated over 1000 hours of labor in the construction of LDS Church chapels in the areas he has lived.Survivors, sons, Almon and his wife, Ruth, Sandy; Glenn C. and his wife, Emma Jane, Idaho Falls, Idaho; 14 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Preceded L in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 1991, 1 p.m. in the Sandy 2nd LDS Ward Cha- pel, 8680 So. 200 East. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Friday 6-8 p.m. and Sat- urday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
