Former President Ronald Reagan has accepted an invitation to speak at Brigham Young University at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, in the Marriott Center.
BYU President Rex E. Lee, who served as U.S. solicitor general from 1981 to 1985 in the Reagan administration, invited Reagan to address the university.The event is primarily for the BYU faculty, staff and students, although a limited number of seats will be available to the general public, BYU spokesman Paul C. Richards said. Because of another event, only the south half of the Marriott Center will be used for Reagan's talk.
Reagan will not be accompanied by his wife, Nancy.
BYU faculty, staff and students may pick up free tickets for the event Feb. 13 at the Marriott ticket office between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. On Feb. 14, the public may pick up tickets during the same hours.
While in Utah, Reagan also will speak at Nu Skin's annual meeting in Salt Lake City. He will return to California on Friday afternoon.
