Two people escaped injury Monday when their single-engine plane made an emergency landing in a field one mile east of U-111 (about 8000 West) near 11600 South.

Salt Lake County Fire Battalion Chief Larry Olsen said the pair - a man and a woman - were not injured."She just had cold feet from walking across the (snowy) field in high heels," Olsen said.

Olsen said the woman, who was piloting the plane, made the emergency landing shortly before noon. The cause of the emergency landing was not known early Monday afternoon.

The downed plane was reported by another small plane, which circled overhead until rescue crews arrived, dispatchers said.
