Reid Spencer Swapp, 62 of Payson, died Saturday, February 2, 1991 at Mountain View Hospital.
He was born February 17, 1928 at Provo, a son of Preston and Louesa Spencer Swapp. He married Jennalee Duke, December 13, 1952 at Provo. Their marriage was solemnized June 23, 1962 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. He was educated in Provo schools. He attended San Bernadino College. He worked as a general contractor most of his life. He was a licensed pilot and aircraft mechanic and loved to fly his own plane. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association. He was an avid reader. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served in four bishoprics.He is survived by his wife of Payson. A daughter and 3 sons: Mrs. John (Debra) Tippetts, Payson; Dirk Swapp, Las Vegas, Nevada; Jody Alan Swapp, Payson and Michael Swapp of Springville. Nine grandchildren. two sisters and two brothers: Readele VanWagenen, Redbluff, California; Jeraldine Prestwich, Orem; Doyle Swapp, Provo and Spence Swapp of Riverton.
Services will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. in the Payson West Thirteenth LDS Ward Chapel, 3 miles West of Payson on Utah Avenue. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Tuesday 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
