Downtown Provo's newest restaurant, The Mouth Trap, will celebrate its grand opening with a "meat cutting" ceremony Aug. 24.
The Mouth Trap opened for business Aug. 2 and has been "really busy during lunchtime," said Glen Jackson, night manager. "People usually have had to go out of downtown to find a sandwich shop."Owners Paul and Betsy Brewer, originally from the East Coast, said they opened the restaurant because they saw a need in the downtown area for a sandwich shop.
The restaurant is located at 43 East Center and is the second Mouth Trap to open in the area. The Brewers' other restaurant has been in business for three years at 1545 N. Canyon Road.
The downtown restaurant employs 13 people. It is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and serves Greek specialties, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs.
