Those looking for warmer temperatures Friday and through the weekend should head for the ski resorts, where the temperature is expected to be about 10 degrees higher than in northern Utah valleys.

And it was expected to be even warmer, about 55 degrees Friday and 57 Saturday, in the St. George area, said William J. Alder, meteorologist in charge of the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service.The temperature should be in the 40s at the resorts and in the mid- to upper 30s in the valleys.

No precipitation is forecast for the weekend, but there could be a little storm, with widely scattered rain or snow, toward the middle of next week along the Wasatch Front, Alder said.

Friday early morning low temperatures included 23 degrees at Alta; 18, Blanding; Cedar City, 13; 4 below zero at Delta; minus 5 at Green River; 21, Park City; 6, Price; 12, Salt Lake City; 24, Snowbird; 32, St. George; and 16, Wendover.
