Two Utah high school seniors have won recognition and scholarships in the annual Amateur Athletic Union and Mars Milky Way High School All-American Award and College Scholarship Program.

Grantsville High's Laurie Bleazard, was recognized for serving as president of Grantsville's chapter of the National Honor Society and as a Congressional Scholar nominee. She has won recognition for numerous other academic awards.She is also involved in high school track and basketball, serving as captain of the track team, where she has earned four varsity letters. She is also a volunteer for the Big Brother/Big Sister program and tutors peers in French and algebra. She is organist for her church as well.

Bountiful High's Nathan S. Cook, was recognized for pursuing an advanced high school studies program. He is a National Honor Society member and received the Presidential Academic Fitness Award.

He is captain of Bountiful's diving team and is a state and regional diving champion, including a 16th place finish in Junior Olympics national competition.

He is also involved in community activities, volunteering time to the Salt Lake Food Bank and working with the elderly.

Bleazard and Cook each received a $750 scholarship.
