Park City's Jeremy Nobis continues to do well on the European ski circuit. The Utah skier finished third on Thursday in an FIS giant slalom.
Nobis, who shocked the World Cup series with a seventh two weeks ago in Switzerland, posted a two-run time of 1:36.81. Hermann Schiesetl of Austria won the event in 1:36.53 and Manfred Kleinlercher, also of Austria, was second in 1:36.79.Nobis started the year with four consecutive GS wins on the Nor-Am circuit, tried the World Cup series, and then returned to the U.S. for more Nor-Am and FIS races. After Super G and GS wins in Utah races, he was promoted by the U.S. Ski Team from the B to the A team and returned to World Cup racing. Since his return, Nobis has consistently been the top U.S. finisher in Super G and giant slalom events.
In Thursday's race, Kyle Wieche of Killington, Vt., was 4th and Nate Bryan of Vail, Colo., was 10th.
