Thousands of Hungarians grab for free milk being distributed in Budapest from milk producers protesting the government's decision to cut production by 15 percent. More than 4,000 demonstrators gathered with banners that blamed the government for "making cows unemployed." Police set up cordons to control the crowd of largely elderly people who came to collect the free milk. A truck banner also referred to the imminent collapse of the meat market. Hungarian radio reported similar demonstrations across the country.
