"Main Street" businesses and agricultural cooperatives are eligible for Small Business Assistance drought disaster loans extended to non-farm businesses in two Utah counties, officials said.
SBA district director Stan Nakano said small, non-farm businesses in Box Elder and Cache counties may apply for up to $500,000 in federal assistance to offset losses caused by the 1990 drought.Loans are available to businesses dependent on agricultural, but the program does not apply to nurseries or businesses primarily engaged in farming or ranching.
The loans carry an interest rate of 4 percent and may be repaid over a period of up to 30 years.
