Funeral will be Friday for Heber Grant Ivins Jr., who was a delegate to the 1968 and 1972 national Democratic party conventions and city attorney for American Fork, Pleasant Grove and Lindon.

The service for Mr. Ivins, 69, who died Jan. 26, 1991, of congestive heart failure while vacationing in Honolulu, will be at 11 a.m. in the American Fork 13th Ward chapel, 975 N. 60 East.Friends may call from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 North, and at the church one hour before services Friday. Burial with military rites will be in the American Fork Cemetery.

Mr. Ivins was recently elected vice chairman of the Utah Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, to which he was first appointed by the late Gov. Scott M. Matheson. He was a board member and attorney for the North Utah County Water Conservancy District and was 4th Judicial District attorney.

He attended Brigham Young Training School and Brigham Young University, was graduated from the University of Utah Law School and had practiced law in American Fork for 40 years.

Mr. Ivins was recipient of the State Jaycees Distinguished Service Award, was a member of an Elks lodge, past president of the Alpine Country Club and director of Deseret Bancorp. and American Fork Industrial Development Corp.
