Gov. Norm Bangerter unleashes a three-point shot during the annual basketball game between his office and the Legislature. The governor was a competitive player in his younger days but is now hampered by knee problems. However, his work helped his office beat the legislators and their staff, 48-36, at Westminster College. Bangerter's team had too much muscle inside in the form of Scott Gilmore and Mike Christensen for the legislators to overcome. Even Bud Scruggs, the governor's chief of staff, banked in a three-pointer to send the legislators to the showers shaking their heads in disbelief. At the end of the game, both sides shook hands and headed back to Capitol Hill for the remainder of the session.
