An early morning fire destroyed a home in Centerville Thursday, but no one was injured, according to a preliminary report by the South Davis Fire District.

The home in the 100 East block of Jennings Lane was reported burning at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, and firefighters reported it was fully involved when they arrived, so they believe the house was burning for some time before the blaze was noticed and then reported by neighbors across the street. The fire was under control by 6:30 a.m. and extinguished by midmorning, firemen reported. An investigation is under way to determine how the fire started.

No injuries to either the home's occupants or firefighters were reported. No damage estimate is available yet, according to investigators.
