Angie Finlinson Lyman, 89, passed away January 29, 1991 in her home of congestive heart failure.
She was born July 3, 1901 at Oak City, Utah to George Edward and Mary Caroline Roper Finlinson. She attended elementary school in Oak City and the Millard Academy at Hinckley, Utah. Married Willis Jay Lyman on May 1, 1918 in the Manti LDS Temple. They lived in Delta and Provo, Utah and Lyman, Wyoming; moving to Rexburg, Idaho in 1938 where she resided at the time of her death. She received musical training early and pursued it throughout her life. She taught over 1000 piano students in the Rexburg area until she discontinued her teaching in 1981.Mrs. Lyman was prominent in church and civic affairs. She was Stake Primary president, Stake Primary organist, counselor in Stake Relief Society Presidency and Regional Welfare Director of Relief Society. She was president of the Rexburg PTA, president of the 6th District PTA, 3rd vice president Idaho Congress of PTA. She served as president of the Rexburg Civic Club, Rexburg Literary and Educational Club, Rexburg-Sugar City Contemporary Music Club and Captain of the DUP.
She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Orlan S. (Millie) Nielsen, Rexburg, Idaho; Mrs. Jack L. (Mary) Smith, Federal Heights, Washington; son, George E., of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers, Edward Finlinson, Fillmore, Utah; Lennox Finlinson, Provo, Utah; sisters, Mrs. Newell D. (Lucy) Day, Manti, Utah; and Mrs. Oakland (Martha) Dutson, Delta, Utah; 31 grandchildren; 104 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, three sons, Asael, Blaine Finlinson, Eddie Finlinson, and two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2nd at 1 p.m. at the Rexburg 2nd Ward Chapel, Rexburg, Idaho. Friends may call Friday, February 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Flamm Funeral Home and one Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Rexburg 2nd Ward.
Funeral services will also be held Monday, February 4, at 12 noon at the Oak City LDS Ward Building, Oak City, Utah. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the LDS Ward. Interment: Oak City Cemetery.
