Guila Rolfe Evans, our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 29, 1991.
She was born October 23, 1910 in Hunter, Utah to William Benjamin and Mary Ellen Anderson Rolfe. In September 1931, she married Wayne Huffaker who passed away shortly after. She then married Thomas Edgar Evans November 17, 1939. The couple made their home in Hunter, Utah where they enjoyed many years together surrounded by family and friends. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout her life.Retired after working many years for ZCMI. She was an exceptional homemaker and took pride in making her home a comfortable place to be and in making people always feel welcome. She enjoyed many activities with her husband, such as being a political judge in their voting district, participating in bowling leagues and going out with friends. Her times of greatest happiness were those in which her family was all together. She had a remarkable devotion and rare spirit that touched those in her life and will be deeply missed. Memories of her dear love will be treasured by family and friends.
Survived by daughter, Mrs. Michael (Valene) Inskeep, West Valley City; three sisters, Mrs. Grant (Florence) Petersen, Sandy; Mrs. Lester (LaPreal) Anderson, Mrs. E. Verne (Mabel) Breeze, both of West Valley City; four grandchildren, Bill, David, Allen and Susie; three great-grandchildren, Whitney, Sarah and Nicholas.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon at the Hunter 3rd Ward, 3737 South 5600 West. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Golden Rule Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
