Lydia Lornell Toombs Maynard, age 94, passed away January 28, 1991 in Brigham City, from a light stroke, complicated by heart failure.
Born in Logan, Utah, March 17, 1896 to John and Lydia Hawes Toombs. Married Henry Harrison Maynard, May 3, 1919. She came to the Lost River Valley in 1902, in a wagon with a team of horses, with her mother, father and two brothers. Another brother was born in the Lost River Valley. She had worked many years in the Arco, Idaho area as a telephone operator, clerk and postal clerk. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and was very active in genealogy. She loved her children and was well pleased with their accomplishments.She is survived by four children, Charles Maynard, Brigham City; Marine Nolte, San Diego, California; Lucile Denney, Grand Junction, Colorado; John L. Maynard, Phoenix, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. Preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, Courtleigh, Verne and Leland; one son, Myron, and one daughter, Lupriel, a twin to Lucile.
Funeral Services Saturday, 11 a.m., Arco Idaho LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Marvel Funeral Home in Arco, Friday, 7-9 p.m. and at the church Saturday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Arco Idaho Cemetery, directed by the Olsen Myers Mortuary.
