- Two American soldiers were reported wounded in a clash with an Iraqi patrol just inside Saudi Arabia. Six Iraqi soldiers were captured when a U.S. Army armored infantry unit exchanged fire with the Iraqi patrol.

- No U.S. aircraft were lost in combat in the past 24 hours despite non-stop missions, the allied command said. Col. Mike Scott said the total U.S. aircraft losses stood at 14 - nine of those in combat.- President Bush Wednesday condemned the continuing attacks on Israel as terrorism. Bush thanked Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir for his "continued restraint."

- Life in the Iraqi capital was regaining some semblance of normalcy despite the bombing, Peter Arnett of Cable News Network reported from Baghdad.

- After Tuesday's attack on Tel Aviv, the Israeli Defense Ministry warned of retaliation but gave no hint of when it might come. An Israeli commander said a U.S. Patriot missile hit the Scud rocket but failed to prevent its warhead from striking the neighborhood, injuring 70.
