Utah County will soon conduct a job classification and pay study of all county positions.
Carole Ann Faust, county personnel director, told commissioners Monday that her office would like to start accepting proposals for the study soon. She said the proposals would go before a screening committee for review and that the committee would make a recommendation to the commissioners.John McMullin, president of the Utah County Employees Association, said once the study begins, the association would like individual surveys rather than group surveys. He said the association would also like the survey to include comparisons with private agencies as well as government agencies.
McMullin said employees should receive orientation regarding the survey before it is conducted. The survey is expected to recommend a salary plan that includes consistent cost-of-living salary adjustments. Employees with longer service should not be compared with entry-level employees, he said.
Commissioners will vote Wednesday on whether to begin accepting proposals for the study.
