Michael P. Theobald, director of organizational development and training for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is the new president of the Utah Chapter, American Society for Training and Development.

The chapter has 300 members who are organization leaders, trainers and consultants responsible for training Utah's work force. They live throughout the state and are part of a 30,000-member national organization.The organization's main objective is to make Utah organizations more competitive in today's global economy.

Theobald and his staff are responsible for organization and management development training, team development and organization designs for LDS Church employees.

Theobald holds a master's degree in organizational management from the Brigham Young University School of Management and has attended the Columbia University executive program. He teaches graduate and undergraduate evening courses on a university level.
