The following list identifies the National Guard and Reserve units from Utah called to active duty as part of Operation Desert Storm. The soldier count for many of the units listed is approximate.U.S. Army Reserve

- 419th Transportation Co., a Salt Lake-based petroleum transportation unit with 175 members, was activated Nov. 17 and left Fort Lewis, Wash., Jan. 14 for active duty in the Persian Gulf.- 321st Medical Detachment, an aviation ambulance unit from Salt Lake City with 50 members, was activated Nov. 29 and left for the gulf Jan. 7.

- 328th General Hospital, with 650 members based at Fort Douglas, was activated Dec. 3 and sent to Frankfurt, Germany, for duty throughout the European medical command. U.S. Marine Reserves

- Company F, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines, more than 100 members stationed at Fort Douglas, activated Dec. 1 for duty in Okinawa, Japan.

- Company E, 2nd Light Armored Infantry Battalion (originally Company C, 4th Light Armored Vehicle Battalion), a ground combat unit based in Tooele, 130 members, activated Nov. 24 and sent to Saudi Arabia. Army National Guard

- 120th Quartermaster Detachment, a water-purification unit based in American Fork with 14 members activated Aug. 24 who have been in Saudi Arabia since mid-September.

- 142nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 18 Arabic-speaking linguists based in Draper, were activated Aug. 24 and have been in the gulf since mid-September.

- 144th Evacuation Hospital, with headquarters in Salt Lake City, 400 members, activated Nov. 20, left for the gulf Jan. 8.

- 625th Military Police Co., based in Murray, 111 members, activated Dec. 3, left for the gulf Jan. 11.

- Company A, 142nd Military Intelligence Battalion, a combination of companies with headquarters in several Wasatch Front locations, 80 members, activated Jan. 3, left for the gulf Jan. 14.

- 1457th Engineer Battalion, based in American Fork, 708 members, activated Jan. 22 and left for Fort Lewis, Wash. Jan. 27. Air National Guard

- 151st Air Refueling Group, 12 Salt Lake-based firefighters activated mid-December, stationed at Castle Air Force Base in California.

- 191st Air Refueling Squadron, Salt Lake City, 60 members activated Dec. 20 for duty in the United States.

- 151st Air Refueling Group, Salt Lake City, 15 volunteers activated at various times for 179 days of duty within the United States.

- 151st Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Salt Lake City, 22 members, activated Jan. 15 for duty at installations in Europe.

- 151st Services Flight, Salt Lake City nine members, departed Jan. 28 for Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., where they were assigned food services and other base servicing duties in support of Operation Desert Storm.
