A Syrian minister Tuesday faulted Iraq's missile attacks against Israel, saying they are giving the Jewish state an excuse to obtain more weapons and are threatening the Arab world with a "big massacre."

In an interview with the Beirut newspaper Ad-Diyar, Syrian Information Minister Mohammed Salman also warned against Turkish intervention in the Persian Gulf war, saying it could lead to "dangerous complications."Salman indicated that he believed Saddam Hussein's Scud missile attacks on Israel were designed to provoke Israel to retaliate and transform the gulf conflict into an all-out Arab-Israeli war.
