Our beloved husband, father and friend, Reed Edwin Brimhall, 76, passed away January 27, 1991 in his home of a heart attack.
Born August 1, 1914, Spanish Fork, Utah to David Davis and Myrtle Hannah Jex Brimhall. Married Marjorie Berrett, December 27, 1947 in Salt Lake City. Sealed December 26, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The first Utahn to be drafted for World War II. He served as staff sergeant for the 174th Coast Artillery in the Aleutian Islands. Wounded in service, he continued on active duty. He received the Battle and Meritorious Service award and the Bronze Star. He ended his military service on July 17, 1945 with an honorable discharge. He was very proud of his part in defending our country.He was a professional salesman and was proud of the fact that he worked hard in providing and supporting his family. Retired as president of Maycock Brokerage in 1980. Reed's most deep felt duty and honor was the service to others through service to our Heavenly Father. Included in his positions in the LDS Church were Stake Sunday School president, Bishop, High Counselor, Temple ordinance worker and Patriarch.
Survivors: wife; two daughters, Mrs. Tim (Marsha) Walker and Mrs. John (Shelley) Stewart; son, David Reed and wife Rebecca; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Lewis, Lucille Cannon, and Beryle Vance; and one brother, Jex David Brimhall.
Funeral services Thursday, January 31, 1991, 2 p.m., Holladay 8th Ward Chapel, 5450 S. Holladay Blvd. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and at the church Thursday, 12:30-1:30pm. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park.
