John G. Popp, age 80, died peacefully in his sleep at Holy Cross Hospital on Sunday, January 27, 1991, from complications following several strokes.

He was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on October 20, 1910, to George and Barbara Popp. He moved to Salt Lake City in 1943. He retired after 32 years as a driver for Interstate Motor Lines. He loved animals, especially his horses, and taught many children how to ride and care for horses. He took great delight in the outdoors, and had a deep concern for Native Americans.He is preceded in death by his mother and father, eight brothers and sisters, Beatrice, Gabriel, Steve, Mary, Micky, Liz, Mike, and George. He will be greatly missed by his survivors: His brother, Joe, Portland, Oregon; his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Anne, San Francisco; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Larry Keller, Park City; three grandchildren, Jackie Fox, Park City; Captain Kathryn Popp, currently serving in the U.S. Army in Saudi Arabia; Michael and Robyn Popp, Fresno, Calif.; many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
