Four women tracksters met qualifying cuts for the NCAA championships while competing at the BYU Open Indoor Track Invitational Saturday afternoon, a non-team scoring meet.

In the shot put competition, BYU All-American Kartsi Leppaluoto qualified for both the NCAA indoors and outdoors with a personal best heave of 51-41/4 while winning the event, and Shauna Turner of Weber State was second with an indoor qualifying mark of 50-01/2.In the high jump, Traci Olsen of Utah and Agneta Westen of Utah State both met the NCAA qualifying standard of 5-10. Olsen was one of several double winners, taking first in the triple jump, too.

BYU's Dorota Buczkowska, running her first mile indoors, picked up first place in a clocking of 4:59.52.
