The beer license of a Bountiful grocery store that sold beer to minors twice last year has been suspended for 30 days.

The City Council ordered that Winegar's, 874 N. 400 East, refrain from selling beer for one month beginning Sunday, Jan. 27. Grocery store clerks sold beer to minors on July 9 and Dec. 10, according to a police investigation. The beer license of Circle K, 495 W. 500 South, was also in jeopardy for the same reason, but that store has since gone out of business.

And a Texaco gas station-convenience store at 390 N. 500 West, was also facing possible City Council action on its beer license but the owner, Hardy Enterprises, has sold the business to Four-star Enterprises. The City Council will decide next month whether to grant the new owners a beer license.
