About 15,000 Amerasian children and their families will be allowed to resettle in the United States in 1991, a Hanoi Foreign Ministry official said Monday.

The agreement came after four days of meetings in Hanoi between teams of U.S. and Vietnamese experts, said Le Bang, deputy chief of the American department of the Foreign Ministry.He said 18,000 former employees of the U.S.-backed South Vietnamese government and their families would also be resettled in the United States this year in accordance with agreements between the two countries.
