An Eastern Airlines plane blew two tires Saturday on landing at Washington National Airport, forcing officials to close the airport briefly, authorities said.

No one aboard Flight 158 was injured in the 10:28 a.m. incident, police officer David Byers said. It was not known immediately how many people were aboard the aircraft.National Airport closed down when the incident happened. The main runway, where the plane had landed, was expected to remain closed until early afternoon but the airport's alternate runway re-opened by late morning, Byers said.
