Arlie J. Scott, age 100, passed away January 26, 1991 in Salt Lake City.
She was born in Ogden, Utah February 13, 1890 to Edward and Jennie Keate Johnson. She attended public schools and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and for a time taught school At Wasatch Elementary.She was married October 12, 1912 to Carl W. Scott, a prominent Salt Lake architect. Arlie was an avid reader, a collector of books and a long time member of the Browning Society. She was active in literary circles, a tireless worker in community affairs and a member of the Town Club. With her many activities, she always had time for her seven grandchildren and each one was very speical to her.
She moved to Mission Beach, California in 1962 where she resided for 27 years, returning to Salt Lake in the spring of 1989.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and a daughter, Dudley Arlene Scott. Survivors include her son, C. Walter Scott of Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, who love and will miss her dearly.
