Clifford David Hughes, 58, of Salt Lake City, died January 22, 1991 in Salt Lake of a heart condition.
He was born December 26, 1932 in Salt Lake City, a son of Thomas and Katie Mortimer Hughes. He married Shirrell Winget on June 1, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He attended Salt Lake schools and graduated from South High School and attended the U of U. He was a veteran of the Air Force, having served in the Korean Conflict. He worked in the securities and investment business and was active in the local financial community. He was on the board of the Hawthorne University and was a member of the LDS Church.He is survived by his wife, Shirrell, Salt Lake City; a daughter, Kelly Lynn and her husband Hy Hunsaker, Woodbridge, Virg.; sons, Richard Kevin and wife Elizbeth Hughes, Sacramento, Calif.; Kurtis David and wife Susan Hughs, Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Nathan, Trisha, Emily and Bradley Hunsaker, all of Woodbridge, Virg.; sisters, Darlene Jensen, Orem; Dorothy Rich, Jacob's Lake, Ariz.; Beth Bauman, Bismark, N.D.; brothers, Howard Hughes, Farmington; and Donald Hughes, Layton.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 26, 1991, at 11 a.m., in the Holladay LDS 27th Ward, 5450 South Holladay Blvd. Friends may call at the MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, on Friday evening, from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
