Mildred Edna Mowrey, age 86, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Lapoint, died Wednesday, January 23, 1991 of causes incident to age.

Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister was born May 10, 1904 in Vernal, Utah to Abner Nathaniel Swain and Permellia Jane Hatch. She was married to Edgar Ferdinand Mowrey on September 23, 1922 which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 10, 1950. She filled a mission the LDS Church to the Lamanites, and held many other Church positions. She loved gardening and to serve her community.Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hugh Gagon (Sybil) and Mrs. Orin Kelbaugh (Berniece); 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Orpha Palmer of Pocatello, Idaho; Genevieve Schaefermyer, Mapelton; two brothers, Orin "Hank" Swain, Neola; and Darreld "Perk" Swain, Denver, Colorado.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 1991, 12 noon at Lapoint, Utah LDS Ward Chapel. Viewing will be at 11 a.m. Interment, Vernal Utah Cemetery. Funeral directors, Olpin-Hullinger Mortuary, Roosevelt
